Muse

Muse A bit ago, =stagehand007 issued a challenge to demonstrate what we consider our muse (link). I like challenges, so who was I to not step up to it?

This came together last night so beautifully, it could be no better chose. What is a fractal truly?

“A geometric pattern that is repeated (iterated) at ever smaller (or larger) scales to produce (self similar) irregular shapes and surfaces that cannot be represented by classical (Euclidian) geometry. Fractals are used especially in computer modeling of irregular patterns and structures found in nature.(1)” (link)

Algorithms are often used to generate the patterns and shapes. I am an Engineer by trade, a civil to be exact. I adore math down to it’s broken simplistic forms and to be able to pull this into geometric shapes tickles me pink. I view it as the simplest of expressions, even if it confuses and bewilders others.

To throw in my fascination with the abstract and it’s really no wonder why I would consider this my muse. Shapes and patterns, repeated over and over make up our world. What can possibly be more inspirational than that?
