I feel like I’ve been neglectful here, but rest assured I’ve been busy.
I have been doing DeReMo, december rendering month, where the goal of the project is to complete a render a day, finished or unfinished. It has not been an easy thing to do, but am proud to say that I’ve managed to keep chugging along.
As such, I really have no finished works to currently post over here. I have to remind myself of this being a learning place, where I show my process. So with that, I’ve learned several things about myself and the art I’ve been working on:
a. Bryce is hard. For the last two days I’ve been experimenting with Bryce with not a whole lot of success. I am reminded of what it’s like to be a beginner and not fully understanding a program. It’s also hard to find beginners tutorials for something simple to start to do from scratch. Most of the tutorials I have found merely assume you know all the buttons and where to find things. …UGH!
b. I’ve gotten quicker with Daz|Studio. I actually have some really good beginnings to a few pieces that I can’t wait to go back and work on. I’ve only found enough time to go back and work on one and that one still needs some improvement. The life of a 3d artist is never done!
c. Always treasure the feedback of others. Even if they are more experienced with the expensive programs. There are ways to get similar effects in daz and poser, it’s just a matter of finding the right combination of lights.
I’m thinking about doing something like this for a different month of the year… like 30 days of fractals or a different poem style every day. I’m not sure just yet.
As always, you can find me posting regularly at Ethereal. Be sure to check out my DA account for my latest incomplete pieces.
