I decided to do a second fitness bootcamp, this one is a 6 week experience. Today was orientation. It pretty much went the same as last time. I just don’t weigh as much as last time. I came in at 179 lbs with a 40% body fat composition. It’s an improvement.. actually quite a bit of an improvement when I actually give it some thought. I weighed 190 lbs back in august. That’s how I’m putting it into perspective. It’s slow… frustratingly slow, but it’s coming along slowly.
My goal for this time around? Change my body composition enough that I get to go clothes shopping with a good conscience. Also, run 3 miles comfortably. They are encouraging us to do the first 5k of the year which is in the middle of the boot camp for Martin Luther King day. But I think I’m going to wait until St. Patrick’s Day and do the second 5k of the year which would be after boot camp is finished. Those are my personal goals at least. There were several familiar faces at the orientation today, which was nice. The only thing I’m not looking forward too is the cold in the morning. It’s going to suck.
Beyond that, the week’s been quiet. I get to see a friend I haven’t seen in a long time tomorrow. And I’m really looking forward to that. The site is almost completely redone too, I’m finishing a few of the pages and redesigning my galleries. Man is it taking up a lot of time too, but like I have anything better to do.
I think your fitness goals are definitely attainable, and slow weight loss is far better for you in terms of your health and in keeping the weight off
So congratulations!
Love the new layout, especially the colours!
That’s what I keep telling myself too. Better a pound or two a month than dropping ten suddenly only to regain double that. I’m just not very patient. And thanks about the layout. I’m pretty pleased with it too ^_^
I wish you well with your fitness goals. I think Peregrine summed it up well and I do agree that it is an attainable goal. I know from experience its nice to have the carrot dangle in front of you. But its also nice to get a couple of nibbles too. Keep pushing your limits.
I think it’s great that you’re doing another boot camp
I think your pace of weight loss is perfect, even if it is frustratingly slow! It will pay off.
I’m doing a 5K in February and I’m hoping to also do one on St. Patrick’s Day. You should definitely give it a shot. It’s not so bad
@Greencrayons – Thanks for the encouragement. I hope it works out too and I don’t lose my momentum <3
@Shauna – That’s what I keep telling myself. Joe keeps encouraging me too. I’m going to end up going ‘oh I’ll just get it done’ and finally make myself do that first 5k. It’s the motivation part and not thinking about all the mental toughness I have to develop lol
